How to choose a Cleanser

PHYT’S cleansers come in different formulations which are adapted to different skin types. Choosing the right cleanser is a matter of knowing your skin type/condition or product consistency and use.

In many cases it is best to address the skin’s present condition before deciding on corrective measures.

All PHYT’S cleansers are formulated with 100% natural products which include essential oils therefore they all have a very light fragrance (nothing overpowering).

They are a valid alternative to harsh bar soap, which tends to be slightly alkaline, residual, and stripping of the skin’s natural barrier.

Milky Texture

Lait Hydro Nettoyant - Face

This cleanser is a lightweight emulsion that is preferable for those with normal & combination skin showing signs of dehydration. It has an emollient consistency, is rich in lipids, non-stripping to the skin’s natural moisture barrier, and easily removed under the shower or with a soft cloth or facial sponge.

Milky cleansers are good at removing standard (non waterproof) makeup and if you do not have sensitive eyes you can also use them to remove mascara and eyeshadows. Very light fragrance of Orange/lavender

Lait Nettoyant - Face

This cleanser is a thick emulsion that is designed for those with dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skins. It also has an emollient consistency, is very rich in lipids, non-stripping to the skin’s natural moisture barrier, and is easily removed with a soft cloth or facial sponge, making them preferable for the more delicate skin types. This type of cleanser also works well for makeup removal (non waterproof) on the face and the eyes (unless you have sensitive eyes). Very light fragrance of Lemon.

Crème de Douche – Body

This body cleanser has been formulated without soap. It has a very creamy, rich texture and is especially suited for dry to very dry, irritated skin. It cleanses and nourishes the skin at the same time leaving it feeling soft & sooth. Very light fragrance. A regal for the senses!

Foaming

Gel Pureté Visage - Face

Also known as rinseable cleansers, work well for individuals with combination, oily or clogged skins.

This cleanser comes in a gel form and is designed to lather when applied to the skin, helping to loosen and remove excess oil, dirt, and dead surface cells. This type of product is popular with teenagers and men for their deep cleansing benefits and simplicity of use. Rinse off with water.

Gel Nettoyant Oxygénant – for Men

Rinseable cleanser in a gel form designed to lather when applied to the skin. Refreshing & gentle, it cleans the skin without drying it. This foaming cleanser is suitable for al skin types and is perfect for use when showering.

Douche de Lavande Relaxante – Body

A rinseable cleanser for the body. Foaming gel formulated to lather when applied to the skin. Enriched with lavender water and essential oil of Lavender to give a nice relaxing feel while washing up.

Douche d’agrume Energisante – Body

A rinseable cleanser for the body. Foaming gel formulated to lather when applied to the skin. Enriched with Peppermint water and essential oil of Mandarin and Orange to give a nice energising feel while washing up.

Exfoliating

Contact+ - Face

Act as a deep cleanser and is non-granular. It works to loosen cellular bonds and flush pores while helping to control cell build-up and excessive oiliness. It is a gentle exfoliant and is suited to all skin types.

Apply a thin layer on the skin, let it dry a bit and remove with gentle circular movements “peeling away” the dry product. Leaves the skin refreshed and glowing, works well on open pores.

Gel Nettoyant Oxygénant – for Men

A deep cleanser for men’s skin. This cool gel has been formulated with Bamboo marrow extracts (very fine) to dislodge impurities from the skin pores. The exfoliating action also helps limit the apparition of hairs under the skin. Essential oil of Tea Tree has been added to the formulation for its purifying action. The skin is clear and radiant.

Gommage Corporel - Body

Another rinseable cleanser with granules to cleanse and exfoliate. This foaming gel contains physical exfoliating micro-granules (from crushed apricot kernel) which serve to remove dead skin cells leaving the skin deep cleansed and feeling refreshed. Best used under the shower because it rinses off with water.

Technique and Application

An important point is the technique used during cleanser application. Your touch, pressure, and facial manipulations should be determined by your skin type.

If you have a dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin, use gentle touch, light pressure, and soft effleurage (feather-like) movements.

For clogged, combination, and oily skin types, circular hand techniques with pétrissage (kneading) and a firm pressure can be used provided you do not also have a sensitive skin.

PHYT’S cleansers are easy to apply with your hands but they can also be used with a soft facial brush for a more involved surface exfoliation (avoid using a brush if you have sensitive skin or acne).

Use them on the face and also on the neck and decolletage.

Cleansers fit well within a woman’s morning skin care routine and double as an excellent method for removing makeup at the end of the day, while men enjoy the simplicity of having an easily accessible item in the shower.
